The Problem We’re Solving
There’s a moment that every deep tech founder knows well. The technology works. The science is solid. The lab results are compelling. And yet — no investor will write a check. Not because the innovation isn’t real, but because the company around it isn’t ready.
Conventional accelerators and early-stage investors have evolved to serve software startups: fast to build, cheap to test, easy to pitch. DeepTech doesn’t work like that. A healthtech startup developing a novel diagnostic tool, or a climatech company engineering new materials for carbon capture, faces a completely different set of challenges: long development cycles, high capital intensity, complex regulatory pathways, and investors who require very different signals before committing.
The classic 12-week cohort model produces almost no value for these companies. The timelines don’t match. The support isn’t deep enough. And the gap between the lab and the market stays wide open.
What 2B Labs Does Differently
2B Labs designs and operates sector-specific investment programs that combine three things most programs keep separate: guaranteed capital, structured execution support, and sustained investor alignment.
We don’t run generic cohorts. Each program is purpose-built for a specific vertical — currently Healthtech and Climatech — and backed by specialised Venture Builders with genuine operational expertise in those sectors. Every selected startup receives guaranteed investment at the moment of selection, not contingent on future milestones. And every phase of execution is monitored through clearly defined KPIs, so follow-on capital is tied to measurable progress.
The result is a structure that reduces risk for everyone involved — investors, venture builders, and founding teams.

How Capital Is Deployed
One of the defining features of the 2B Labs model is how investment is structured. Capital is deployed progressively, linked to execution milestones — not released all at once and left to run out.
The process works as follows:
1. Open call and startup application
2. Selection committee evaluation
3. First investment guaranteed within 4 weeks of selection
4. Business validation phase — 14 weeks
5. Second investment tranche released within 4 weeks of completing validation
6. Market acceleration phase — 12+ months of execution
7. Eligibility for follow-on investment beyond €1M, 12 months after the program starts
This structure means investors deploy capital with higher confidence at each stage, startups always know what they need to achieve to unlock the next tranche, and everyone operates with shared information and aligned incentives.
Who We Work With
2B Labs works with DeepTech startups that meet four core criteria:
— Proprietary intellectual property (IP)
— B2B business models
— Advanced Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
— Clear market ambition and scalability potential
We also work alongside investment funds seeking better-prepared DeepTech deal flow, and specialised Venture Builders who need capital continuity and scaling capacity to do their best work.
Currently Active Programs
2B Labs currently operates two active programs:
Healthtech — Supporting startups developing technology-driven solutions in diagnostics, therapeutics, digital health, and medical devices.
Climatech — Supporting startups building solutions for energy transition, industrial decarbonisation, and environmental sustainability.
Both programs are open to applications. If your technology is ready but your company isn’t yet — that’s exactly the gap we’re built to close.
If you’re a DeepTech founder, an investor looking for better-prepared deal flow, or a Venture Builder seeking a structured program to work within — we’d like to talk.
